Coach D (Debbie) comes to RunFit Kidz from a long line of Army moves.  The Army has taken her and her family from Washington, Germany, California and Virginia.  Before her husband joined the Army, Debbie was a Construction Defect and Environmental Law Paralegal for ten years before deciding to stay home with her growing babies.

Fitness has always been an important facet of Debbie’s life.  Growing up, Debbie played softball and ran track.  She decided to become a fitness instructor after college while working as a paralegal.  Debbie is a certified Fitness Instructor with Aerobic and Fitness Association of America (AFAA) and has been since 1995.  Since then, she has also become an AFAA certified Personal Trainer, Nautilus and Johnny G. Spinning Instructor, Wounded Warrior Cycle Instructor, Youth Fitness Instructor and Youth Sports Coach.  Debbie has coached youth sports teams to include soccer, basketball, T-ball, baseball and summer youth fitness camps.  Debbie’s favorite Group Exercise classes to teach are:  Spin/Cycle, Bootcamp, Extreme Fitness, Strength, Youth Fitness and Family Fun Fitness.

Debbie came to love running after an odd start.  Her husband was deployed to Iraq and she needed to find something healthy that would challenge her both mentally and physically while he was away from home.  Running a half marathon was the unthinkable goal she chose.  Since then, Debbie has ran and finished the Berlin Marathon, 11 half marathons, the Army 10-Miler three times and numerous 5 and 10K races to include two Mud Runs .  Running is now such a passion for her that she is constantly trying to push herself to improve for that next race date.
